SEATTLE—Amazon.com Inc. is again trying to help out procrastinators -- and boost its holiday sales -- by extending for a second time the deadline by which shoppers can finish their Internet shopping and still get free shipping with delivery guaranteed by Christmas.
Amazon said Thursday that the new holiday-season deadline for its popular "Super Saver Shipping" is 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday.
The free-shipping offer applies to many purchases of at least $25 from Amazon.
The online retailer had said on Dec. 10 that it extended the deadline to Friday, which was one day later than the previous deadline.
Shoppers also can get free two-day shipping on many orders if they belong to Amazon's "Prime" program, which costs $79 a year. The last day for free two-day shipping and guaranteed Christmas delivery for Prime members is 7 p.m. PST Dec. 22, unchanged from the company's original deadline.
Shoppers using Amazon's standard shipping option have until Dec. 20 to buy gifts that will be delivered by Dec. 24.![]()
