38 Studios’ new game due in Feb.

Yesterday, designer Ken Rolston showcased a trailer for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning at the gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany. The game will be released in North America on Feb. 7 and in Europe on Feb. 10.

A 38 Studios spokesman, Adam Kahn, said the game was unveiled to the public earlier this year at PAX East in Boston.

Rolston said the game offers “immersive storytelling’’ and “expansive character development.’’ He described the game’s fictional background as a “world to love and a world worth saving.’’

Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling is the founder and chairman of 38 Studios.
