MIT begins building Pfizer facility

Research at Kendall Square site will focus on drugs for diabetes, Alzheimer’s

Pfizer Inc. on Monday will add its name to an ever-growing list of corporate giants moving to the outskirts of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where it will kick off construction of a new research complex. The company is planning to move into a 230,000-square-foot building to be developed at 610 Main St., where it will launch research operations focused on developing cures for illnesses ranging from type 2 diabetes, to alzheimer’s, to schizophrenia. About 400 employees will work in the building.
