SAN FRANCISCO—A story about Carrier IQ Inc. erroneously reported that Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) has called for an investigation into the information that the company's software records on smartphones. Franken sent the company a letter with questions, but has not called for an official inquiry. Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) has called for an investigation.
