With long-term PAX East deal, Boston affirms role in industry

The giant annual gaming convention PAX East, which attracted more than 60,000 visitors to Boston in 2011, will be held in the city at least through 2023, the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority said this morning. PAX East will also contribute $25,000 a year for ten years to the Massachusetts Digital games Institute, the Worcester program to promote collaboration between the state’s academic institutions and its gaming industry. PAX East was moved to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center last year.
