Hyaluron to get $1m loan

MassDevelopment and Middlesex Savings Bank will issue a $1 million low-interest loan to Hyaluron Inc. The pharmaceutical biotechnology service company will use the funds to expand clean-room manufacturing space at its Burlington headquarters. It will also purchase back up systems for its electrical and mechanical infrastructure. Founded in 1999, Hyaluron provides aseptic manufacturing services.

Sweeny joins insurance firm

Mike Sweeny of Chelmsford has joined the staff of Fred C. Church Insurance's Lowell headquarters as a commercial insurance account executive. Sweeny has been a licensed insurance producer for 19 years. He received his degree in liberal arts from Providence College.

Olbrot a senior accountant

The CPA and business advisory firm Rucci, Bardaro & Barrett, has promoted Michelle Olbrot of Medford to senior accountant on its 30-person staff. She joined the firm in 2004 as a staff accountant.

Ferrell-Jones leads YWCA

The YWCA Boston has named Lexington resident Sylvia Ferrell-Jones president and CEO. Ferrell-Jones joins the YWCA Boston from the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. She worked for the national organization for five years and previously served on the board of directors for Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay. She received a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and graduated from Yale Law School.

McCaffrey on coaching panel

Paul McCaffrey, director of the Permit Division at the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, was named to the Institute for Sports Coaching's board of advisers. McCaffrey is a member of Summer of Opportunity, a partnership with the Boston Police Department and John Hancock to promote workforce development, mentoring, and college preparation for at-risk, inner-city adolescents. He is also a past board member of the Greater Boston YMCA, the West Roxbury YMCA, and the Roslindale YMCA.

Ferrick named manager

Cross Country Automotive Services, headquartered in Medford, has named David Ferrick vice president and general manager of the company's Insurance Market Division. Ferrick, a graduate of Suffolk University Law School, began his career with Cross Country in 1992 and previously worked as director of product management and marketing.
