In March, the Internet Crime Complaint Center released its report on Internet crime in 2009. The IC3 - a joint venture between the FBI and National White Collar Crime Center - received 336,665 complaints of online crime last year.
That figure represented a jump of 22 percent over 2008, and resulted in losses of $559.7 million. The report included a list of the year's biggest online scams. Take a look at IC3's description of those scams, ranging from work-at-home schemes to attempts at extortion.
