Cities, towns woo Google Fiber
Google announced on today that Kansas City, Kansas has been chosen as the first location of its state-of-the-art fiber-optic data network.
Lasy year, Google prodded cities and town across the US to make their pitches to be the home of the much sought-after network, which is capable of downloading Internet data at one billion bits per second.
More than 600 communities applied.
Here are some of the towns and cities across the US - including a few from here in the Bay State - that tried (and failed) - to woo Google.
