Microsoft's Surface tablet released

Microsoft has released Surface, a tablet computer to compete with Apple's iPad. The basic version of the device is 9.3 millimeter (or a little more than a third of an inch) thick tablet that comes with a kickstand to hold it upright for $500. The 32 GB device weighs under 1.5 pounds. You can bundle the device with a Touch Cover that doubles as the device's keyboard for $100 more.
