One of the first games packaged with the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) console, Duck Hunt made its United States debut in 1985. Players enjoyed shooting ducks or clay pigeons that fly across their TV screens with an ancient weapon, the NES Zapper gun. Perhaps more memorable than the ducks, this dog (left) popped up at the bottom of the screen to congratulate or laugh at the player after each hit or miss.
