Pics from Friday's 10th anniversary party at Cambridge Innovation Center

I was feeling ancient Friday night, remembering when I attended the grand opening party at what was then called Cambridge Incubator, in the spring of 2000. I'd just started writing a weekly column for the Globe called @large.

Now, it's called the Cambridge Innovation Center, and over the past ten years, it has been home to an energetic, constantly-changing collection of start-ups, investors, recruiters, PR firms, and foreign trade missions. It has become a magnet for entrepreneurs, especially those spinning out from MIT (which happens to own the building that houses CIC.) Friday was the big 10th anniversary celebration, which began in the afternoon and lasted into the night.

As I arrived, I bumped into Greg Bialecki, Secretary of Housing and Economic Development, who'd given a short speech to kick things off.

Here are a few iPhone photos I took:

Sharon Broder with husband David Rose, founder of Vitality, a start-up that makes intelligent pill bottles.

Bill Warner of Warner Research, one of the current tenants of CIC's Cambridge Coworking Center. Warner was the founder of Avid Technology, which makes video and audio editing software.

Sorin Grama of Promethean Power, which makes solar-powered refrigerators for the developing world (or other areas without reliable electricity), with Rich Miner of Google Ventures. Grama was showing Miner how his iPhone can keep tabs on the temperature inside one of their fridges.

In one area of the party, guests were invited to play games with Lego blocks for a chance to win software from Microsoft. There were also dancers, classical musicians, DJs, a magician, and a salsa band. (Not to mention blueberry vodka from Maine.)

Jay Meattle, founder of Shareaholic, with Dharmesh Shah, co-founder and chief technology officer at HubSpot, one of the tenants at CIC. Shah writes the popular blog On Startups.

Shawn Broderick of the TechStars entrepreneurship program. Broderick was heading straight from the CIC party to Boston Startup Weekend, across the street at Microsoft NERD.

Justin Bingham of Janeiro Digital, Jim Schoonmaker of EveryScape, and Scott Johnson of New Atlantic Ventures, a CIC tenant.

Carl Stjernfeldt of Castile Ventures with Tom Andrews of Alexandria Real Estate Equities.

Betty and Walter Wright. Wright is managing director of Trinity Law Group.
