Applix, a provider of business management software, said today it is acquiring privately held Netherlands-based Temtec International BV, which provides self-service analytic software, in a $14.5 million deal. The company also boosted its full-year sales outlook on the transaction.

The company, based in Westborough, will pay $12 million in cash and $2.5 million in common stock for Temtec in an effort to provide its clients with a more comprehensive product offering.

Applix will obtain Temtec's Executive Viewer software which will allow it to provide customers with a single interface to performance management software.

"Customers are calling for unified performance management solutions that can be easily and broadly deployed -- not just in finance but throughout operations. This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to respond to this market demand and to bring more complete operational performance management solutions to the enterprise," Applix President and Chief Executive David Mahoney said in a statement.

Hubert Heijkers, Temtec's founder and a managing director, will join Applix as vice president and chief architect.

Applix said the acquisition will add between $3 million and $4 million to its full-year revenue, which was previously projected to range from $41 million to $44 million. (AP)
