Fallon adds two hospitals, two physicians groups
Fallon Community Health Plan of Worcester said today that it has signed contracts with two hospitals and two physicians groups, expanding its provider network into southeastern Massachusetts. Brockton Hospital, Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center of Brockton, Brockton Physician Hospital Organization and Bridgewater Goddard Park Medical Associates joined the Fallon network. The expansion is part of the insurer's strategy to attract more members from the eastern part of the state and keep costs down by offering medical care at local community hospitals instead of Boston's prestigious and expensive teaching hospitals. Fallon has about 175,000 members, many of them clustered near the insurer's base in Worcester.
