Logan International Airport set a one-day record for taxi business Monday as a busy but mostly smooth Thanksgiving travel week came to a close.
A total of 9,961 cabs were dispatched, exceeding the 9,500 on Sunday, a Logan spokesman said. That was about 2.5 times the normal daily cab volume.
Ridership on Logan Express suburban shuttle buses was up 6 percent from a year earlier, and initial indications were that 15 percent more bags were checked than last year, largely because of new restrictions on toiletries, liquids, and gels in carry-on bags, Logan officials said.
