Greater Media Inc., Nassau Broadcasting Partners LP, and Charles River Broadcasting Co. said today that they have closed on previously announced transactions that will change the Greater Boston radio dial.

Greater Media acquired Charles River's 102.5 FM frequency, licensed to Waltham, and Nassau acquired Greater Media's 99.5 FM frequency, licensed to Lowell.

As a result, two local stations will switch positions on the radio dial on noon Dec. 1.

Country station WKLB will begin broadcasting on the 102.5 frequency, home to WCRB's classical music format, and classical WCRB will move to the 99.5 frequency.

One reason for the switch is that 102.5 frequency reaches more listeners in Greater Boston, industry observers have said.

Greater Media is a family owned company in Braintree and the parent of 20 AM and FM radio stations in such cities as Boston, Detroit, and New Jersey.
