L.L. Bean to open two more stores in Japan
L.L. Bean, the Maine retailer of just about everything a person could want to feel at home in the great outdoors, said it is opening two more stores in Japan and exploring expansion in other international markets.
One store is set to open tomorrow in a Tokyo suburb; the other will open Dec. 4 in a suburb of Osaka, the company said.
When those stores are open, L.L. Bean said it will have 15 stores in Japan.
Going forward, L.L. Bean said it plans to open at least four stores a year in Japan.
"We are actively searching out locations for retail development in Latin America and Asia," said Zane Shatzer, general manager of international new market development, in a statement. "But we are also looking to boost our presence in Canada."
