TUV SUD America acquires EST

TUV SUD America Inc., a testing and certification firm in Danvers, said today it has acquired EST Testing Solutions, a privately owned Michigan firm that specializes in environmental and electromagnetic compatibility testing for the automotive and furniture industries.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, said chief executive Stefan P. Butz of TUV SUD America.

"The strategic acquisition of EST will further strengthen TUV SUD America's growing environmental and EMC testing capabilities," Butz said in a statement that used the initials EMC to reference electromagnetic compatibility.

TUV SUD America is a subsidiary of TUV SUD AG, a global testing and certification organization based in Munich, Germany.
