S.Africa bank gets OK to buy BankBoston Argentina assets

South Africa's biggest bank by assets, Standard Bank, has secured approval from Argentina's central bank to buy Bank of America Corp.'s BankBoston Argentina assets, Standard Bank said today.

Standard Bank said in a statement the transfer of assets would start shortly and was expected to close in the first quarter of 2007. (Reuters)
