The hot home colors of 2007? California Paints, the Andover division of California Products Corp., today issued its annual color forecast, which predicts "culture and nature will heavily influence home decor."

Trendy choices could include cultural color schemes from India, China, and Latin America, according to the company's home fashion experts.

India has its "coppery golds and lively citrus combinations of green and yellow," the company said, and for those who want to give the manse a Chinese flair, "intense reds, and jade greens" juxtaposed "against nature-inspired neutrals" could be a good choice.

Then there's the "rich, vibrant palette" of Latin America, with its yellows, greens and tangerine, the company noted.

Sometimes described as a "neutral with attitude," taupe seems to be mercifully absent from 2007's rainbow of trendy hues, though eco-friendly brown fusions shouldn't be overlooked.

"To stay current with latest color and fashion trends, consumers should prepare to look to their roots as well as the outside world," California Paints color forecaster Aimee Desrosiers said in a statement.
