Healthcare workers union moving area headquarters to Dorchester

The 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East union has leased 50,500 square feet at 150 Mount Vernon St. in Dorchester and plans to relocate its Boston-area office there next spring, said a broker in the transaction, Saint James Real Estate Advisors of Boston. The union's local office is now is at 21 Fellows St. in Roxbury, said Lisa DonFrancesco, a principal at Saint James.

According to its website, 1199 SEIU represents more than 275,000 healthcare workers and retirees in New York, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Massachusetts.
