Indevus Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Lexington company that focuses on men's health treatments, reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $14 million, compared with a year-ago loss of $12.6 million, as revenue rose 50 percent to $15.2 million.

"I am extremely pleased with our performance in fiscal 2006," Indevus chief executive Glenn L. Cooper said in a statement. "Over the past year, we have achieved virtually every milestone on or ahead of schedule we set for ourselves. We have continued to build momentum, and I am very optimistic that in fiscal 2007, we will continue to execute on our strategy."

Cooper added, "During the past year, we have made marked advancements in our clinical pipeline."

Indevus has been testing Sanctura XR for overactive bladder and Nebido, a long-acting injectable therapy for male hypogonadism, a condition caused by reduced testosterone levels; common effects of hypogonadism include decreased sexual desire, muscle loss, and weakness, Indevus said.
