Axcelis gets "significant order"

Axcelis Technologies Inc., a Beverly company that makes equipment for the semiconductor industry, said today it received an order last month from one of the world's top memory manufacturers for its Optima HD Imax molecular implanter.

The company did not provide additional details, but Axcelis chairman and chief executive Mary Puma said in a statement, "This order is very significant, serving as powerful validation for our Optima HD platform."
