BG Medicine partners with Cal. firm
BG Medicine Inc. of Waltham will collaborate with Applied Biosystems Group on molecular medicine research.
The companies said today they have signed an agreement under which they will work together to enhance biomarker discovery and development.
BG Medicine has developed a research platform that measures biological changes of drug and disease effects.
With offices in California and Connecticut, Applied Biosystems develops instrument-based systems, reagents, software, and contract services to the life sciences industry and research community.
Referring to the new collaboration, BG Medicine chief executive Pieter Muntendam said in a statement, "With the rapid emergence of molecular medicine and biomarker-guided drug development initiatives, there is an explosive demand for biomarker discovery and validation research."
