Boston Sci extends Taxus shelf life

Boston Scientific Corp. said the FDA approved extending the shelf life of its Taxus Express stent system to 18 months.

The previously approved shelf life was 12 months.

The Natick medical products company said the FDA based its decision on data the company submitted that demonstrated the performance of the paclitaxel-eluting coronary stent was maintained within FDA-approved specifications at 18 months. (Dow Jones)
