Bruker Daltonics Inc., a Billerica developer of life sciences tools, said today it has received a $1.7 million subcontract award for its Raid-M hand-hel chemical-agent detector from the US Army.
The company said the Raid-M will be used by National Guard civil support teams to provide real-time chemical screening.
"This contract is just more evidence that the Raid-M has arguably become the pre-eminent hand-held chemical-agent detector in the world today with a detection performance and versatility not commonly expected of handheld devices," Frank Thibodeau, a company vice president, said in a statement.
Bruker Daltonics is part of Bruker BioSciences Corp.
