Critical Therapeutics Inc. expects to report fourth-quarter revenue from its asthma drug Zyflo of $1.9 million to $2.1 million.

The Lexington pharmaceutical company said that beginning with the first quarter, it expects to recognize Zyflo revenue when the product is shipped to wholesalers, third-party distributors or pharmacies.

Previously, the company would defer revenue until the product was dispensed through patient prescriptions.

Critical Therapeutics also expects to report that its net cash expenditures in the fourth quarter of 2006 were about $10 million, or 23% below the midpoint of the company's previous estimate of between $12 million and $14 million. (AP)
