The Lahey Clinic has finalized plans for a $50 million expansion of its Peabody medical center.
About 63,000 square feet will be added to the 162,000 square feet of space at Lahey Clinic Medical Center, North Shore; the expansion will include 15,000 square feet of new space for Children's Hospital Boston, which has an outpatient center at the facility.
The addition is expected to be completed in 2009.
"We're looking forward to expanding our services on the North Shore," said Robert J. Schneider, Lahey Clinic senior vice president.
Lahey Clinic is a nonprofit doctors' group with headquarters in Burlington; its hospital there is a teaching hospital of Tufts University School of Medicine.
