Oscient expects 2007 revenue to rise 80%

Biotech drug maker Oscient Pharmaceuticals Corp. said today that it expects to post fourth-quarter revenue of about $18 million.
The estimate for the quarter ended Dec. 31 includes about $12 million in revenue of from the company's Antara capsules, which treat high cholesterol, and about $6 million in revenue from its Factive antibiotic tablets.
The results reflect the first full quarter of sales for Antara, which was acquired by Oscient during the third quarter of 2006.
Oscient said it expects to post about $46 million in revenue for 2006.
The 2006 estimate includes about $22 million in revenue from Factive, about $17 million in revenue from Antara, and about $7 million in revenue from co-promotion activities.
Oscient said it expects fiscal 2007 revenue to be up by at least 80 percent from 2006 levels, with about two-thirds of the revenue derived from Antara sales.
The company said it plans to announce its complete 2006 financial results in February. (AP)
