Frank Petz has been named as the head of the Boston office of CBRE|Melody.

Petz, who joined the capital advisory firm's Boston office in 2004 and most recently served as senior director, has replaced managing director Phil Ward, who is returning to Hartford to serve in a corporate capacity for CBRE|Melody, the firm said.

CBRE|Melody is the real estate investment banking division of CB Richard Ellis, a real estate services firm.

In 2006, CBRE|Melody said its New England operation secured more than $1.2 billion on behalf of its clients, a 30 percent increase over the previous year.
