The Rockport Co. will incorporate some Adidas technology in casual and outdoor shoe lines it plans to debut worldwide in the fall.

Along with Reebok International Ltd., Rockport of Canton was acquired by the Adidas AG of Germany last year.

Rockport said today that one of its fall collections will feature Adidas Torsion technology, a lightweight arch support system that allows the shoe to closely mimic the natural twisting movement of the foot; the collection will likely retail from $120 to $200.

"Rockport has pioneered the use of athletic technologies in casual and dress shoes for more than 35 years," Rockport chief executive Rick Paterno said in a statement. "This collaboration speaks to the unique partnership we have established with Adidas and our unwavering passion and commitment to the design and construction of high-quality, fashionable comfort footwear."
