Morris Innovative Research has hired Medical Capital Advisors to help explore strategic options, including the possible sale of the company.

Medical Capital Advisors, a Waltham firm that provides investment banking advice to medical technology companies, said today it will help Morris Innovative explore partnership and acquisition opportunities.

Indiana-based Morris Innovative is developing a biologic device for closing arteries that does not leave foreign material at the puncture site; femoral arteries are often punctured during procedures to repair the heart, such as when a stent is threaded through the femoral artery for placement in the heart.

According to Morris, current methods of closing that puncture can be prone to infection, something its device seeks to address.

Medical Capital Advisors will advise Morris Innovative on whether a strategic partnership offers the best opportunity for rapid market penetration for its product.
