BladeLogic Inc. said today it signed a distribution deal for Japan.

The Lexington firm provides data-center automation software, and BladeLogic said it has entered a distribution partnership agreement with Macnica Networks, a Japanese information technology company.

Under the agreement, Macnica Networks will resell and provide value-added services for BladeLogic software to its corporate and service provider clients in Japan, the companies said.

"By partnering with BladeLogic, we are now able to offer our clients the top-rated data-center automation solution in the market," Macnica Networks president Kiyoshi Nakashima said in a statement.
