Coaching is offered for medical-device firms

The Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council launched a coaching program to support industry start-ups.

The Boston association, which represents 360 manufacturers, suppliers, research centers, and academic health centers, said today it has debuted MedTech Ignite, a business coaching program designed to link start-up companies with expert mentors as a way to help new device firms through their early stages of development.

"While there are now a record number of medical device companies in the state contributing in significant ways to the Massachusetts economy, there is still a vital need to make sure that new companies get the help they need to succeed and contribute to the overall device sector," MedTech Ignite executive director Laura Allen said in a statement.
