Haru coming to Boston
Haru, a restaurant chain that specializes in Japanese fusion cuisine, plans to open its first New England location at the Shops at Prudential Center.
Prudential Center's owner, Boston Properties Inc., said Haru will open in the fall and occupy space that had been previously leased by another restaurant, Dick's Last Resort, on Huntington Avenue.
The 165-seat Haru restaurant will include a sushi bar, a lounge area, private event space, and outdoor seating, Boston Properties said.
"Haru is one of today's most renowned names in Japanese cuisine," Bryan J. Koop, senior vice president of Boston Properties, said in a statement. "Their innovative menu, partnered with the restaurant's Asian-influenced and stylish decor, is a perfect addition to the Prudential Center's restaurant offerings."
Haru is one of several restaurant chains operated by Benihana Inc. of Miami.
