Dr. Jeffrey Levin-Scherz , chief medical officer of the physicians network for Partners HealthCare System, will take the same position at HealthOne Care System of Newton later this month. HealthOne is the parent of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, one of the state's largest physician practice groups, and four other medical groups, which employ more than 700 doctors. Previously, Levin-Scherz served as medical director for Tufts Health Plan and president of the Mount Auburn Cambridge Independent Practice Association.

"My goal is to provide the best patient experience around, have happy physicians and staff members, improve quality and have the best efficiency in the business," said Levin-Scherz. Debra Ann Geihsler , chief executive of HealthOne, said Levin-Scherz would also help emphasize preventive care.
