WGBH Boston executive David Liroff was named to a top post at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
CPB said today that it has appointed Liroff as its senior vice president for system development and media strategy.
CPB is a private, nonprofit corporation created by Congress to monitor the federal government's investment in public broadcasting.
At WGBH, the Boston public broadcasting facility, Liroff held the position of vice president and chief technology officer.
"We'll miss David at WGBH, but we are delighted that the entire system will now have the benefit of his wisdom," WGBH president Henry Becton Jr. said in a statement.
