A new lifestyle store in Natick promises to sell ritzy furniture in a dog-friendly environment.

The founders of Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, a North Carolina furniture-and-lifestyle chain, plan to attend a grand opening event next month; on March 17, when many locals will be honoring St. Patrick. The company founders plan to be on hand to autograph their book, "Let's Get Comfortable: How to Furnish and Decorate a Welcoming Home."

According to the chain, the owners of its Boston store are opening a second Massachusetts location.

While the chain claims to have helped furnish the sets of such TV shows as "Sex & the City," its press statement suggests that Fido is as welcome at the Natick store as "Sex & the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker.

One company boast: It sells dog beds to match the sofas.
