Wise Foods Inc. and the Boston Red Sox said today that Wise has been named the official Potato Chip and Cheez Doodle sponsor of the team.

They also said that slugger David Ortiz has been selected as the team's "Wise Player" and that he will partner with Wise on a variety of promotional efforts.

Under a three-year agreement, Wise will supply its potato chips, kettle chips, and Cheez Doodles to all Red Sox games at Fenway Park, and it will have "prominent right-field wall signage in the area of the stadium known as Pesky Corner," the two said.

Wise will also sponsor a new feature segment on the main Red Sox scoreboard, and it will have rights to use the Red Sox logo and other team marks on its products and in promotional efforts in New England, the two said.

Wise is a regional producer of salty snacks with corporate offices in Berwick, Pa.
