Voltaire is continuing its expansion in Asia by opening an office in Beijing.
The Billerica company is a provider of grid backbone solutions for data centers; it already has overseas offices in Israel, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan.
Voltaire said it has been selling its solutions throughout Asia for more than two years and has experienced a "dramatic increase in demand" from research groups and academia and from commercial businesses.
"We are pleased to expand our presence in Asia, a region of growing importance to Voltaire's overall business," Satoshi Shiba, a company regional director, said in a statement.
