Axcelis expands in China
Axcelis Technologies Inc. announced today the opening of a new, expanded headquarters in Shanghai.
The Beverly provider of manufacturing equipment to the semiconductor industry said the new facility gives its rapidly growing customer base in China access to its semiconductor manufacturing equipment, services, and support.
"Axcelis has held a leadership position in China for more than two decades and has the largest installed base of ion implanters in the country," Axcelis vice president Eric Hsu said in a statement.
He added, "We expect our dramatic growth to continue, and our new, larger Shanghai facility will enable us to meet the needs of both our expanding customer base and our organization as it reaches out to new markets within China."
