Beacon Roofing to acquire Midwest firm

Beacon Roofing Supply Inc., a Peabody-based distributor of roofing materials and building products, said it plans to buy North Coast Commercial Roofing Systems Inc., which has 16 locations in eight Midwestern states.

Beacon Roofing did not disclose terms of the deal, which is expected to close early in 2007.

The purchase will give Beacon Roofing its first locations in New York, Ohio, and West Virginia.

Based in Twinsburg, Ohio, North Coast has nearly 200 employees and posted sales of $253 million in the most recent quarter.
