EnerNOC gets California deal

EnerNOC Inc. has entered an agreement with Southern California Edison to help reduce electricity demand during peak demand periods.

EnerNOC of Boston uses technology to automate the so-called demand-response process for electric utilities such as Southern California Edison to help ease grid constraints when demand for electricity surges and to reduce blackout risk.

Earlier this month, EnerNOC entered into similar agreements with the Public Service Company of New Mexico and Pacific Gas and Electric Co.
