General Compression raises $5m
General Compression Inc. said today it has successfully closed an initial round of over $5 million.
The Attleboro company said it plans to use the funding to accelerate the development of its dispatchable wind technology that makes wind energy available on demand.
According to General Compression, dispatchable wind energy can be sold when prices are high and stored when prices are low; this vision is powered by a dispatchable wind turbine system.
"This round of funding is a tremendous vote of confidence by the investment community in General Compression's patented compression technology and the disruptive economics of dispatchable wind power," company chief executive David Marcus said in a statement.
