Governor Deval Patrick's administration today named a high-ranking health insurance executive as new commissioner of the Division of Health Care Finance and Policy.

The administration named Sarah Iselin, who currently serves as chief of staff for health care services at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.

Iselin previously served as the director of policy, research, and evaluation at the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation, and was responsible for developing the foundation's ``roadmap to coverage,'' a document which helped influence the state's attempts to establish universal healthcare coverage.

Iselin has also served as the director of Health Care Finance at the Massachusetts Hospital Association and has held policy positions at the Division of Health Care Finance and Policy, and the Visiting Nurse Association of Boston.
