Lycos partners with ABC Family network
Lycos Inc. is teaming up with the ABC Family network to help create online viewing parties to watch the season finale of the Wildfire series, which is set to air Monday.
According to Lycos, a Waltham search portal operator, fans of the series will have the opportunity to host their own viewing parties through the company's proprietary "watch & chat video platform," setting up private screening rooms online and scheduling a date and time to meet up with their friends and fellow Wildfire fans to watch the finale.
Screening room hosts will have the ability to pause, rewind, and fast-forward video and can chat in real-time with others in the screening room while they watch, Lycos said.
Over the last several months, Lycos has been introducing products that allow consumers to watch and chat about movies and video clips.
Lycos Cinema offers hundreds of independent films for viewing, and Lycos Mix allows users to create and watch various video clips assembled into playlists to which others can add video, provide comments, and chat while watching the Mix.
