Talbots Inc. said today it will hold its annual meeting May 24 at the John Hancock Hotel and Conference Center in Boston.
The Hingham retailer sells apparel and is best known for its classic clothing styles for women age 35 and older. It operates 1,368 stores under the Talbots and J. Jill brand names.
Last month, Talbots said chief executive Arnold Zetcher will retire next year after leading the company for two decades.

Last week, Talbots reported a drop in fourth-quarter earnings to just above the break-even point as results were affected by acquisition costs, stock options expensing, and deep discounts; revenue rose 31 percent to $638 million.
