Tiffany & Co. said today it plans to open a Natick store in September.

The famous jeweler said the store will be located in the Natick Collection, which was formerly known as the Natick Mall before its owner decided to rebrand it with a new monicker to give it a more upscale aura.

"The Natick Collection is positioned to become a premier destination for shopping and will also provide the region's upscale clientele with the consummate lifestyle," Tiffany executive vice president Beth O. Canavan said in a statement.

"We are delighted that Tiffany & Co. has chosen to open a retail store at Natick Collection," said Lori Pawley, a vice president for General Growth Properties Inc., which owns the shopping center.

Last month, Natick Mall renamed itself Natick Collection as the 40-year-old shopping center wraps up a big expansion that includes more high-end retailers and restaurants, a Globe story in February reported.
