Anika Therapeutics Inc., which makes products to treat bone, cartilage and soft tissue ailments, said Thursday that it has received European approval for the commercial sale of its Elevess product.

Elevess is an injectable soft tissue filler for facial wrinkles, scar remediation and lip augmentation, Anika said.

The company said it has filed a supplement with the Food and Drug Administration to its application for premarket approval of the product in the United States.

The global commercial launch of Elevess is expected to begin in the second half of 2007, Anika said. (AP)
