Boston Beer's chief got $2.43m for 2006
Boston Beer Co. today disclosed that Martin F. Roper, president and chief executive, had a compensation package valued at $2.43 million for 2006.
According to a proxy filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, his compensation included a $606,700 salary and a bonus of $225,000.
Boston Beer also said that Roper’s pay packaged recognized $1.02 million in stock-option awards.
In February, the compensation committee recommended an annual base salary for 2007 of $635,000 for Roper.
Separately, the Boston brewer said Roper realized $2.45 million in value from the exercise of stock options to acquire 109,500 shares during 2006.
Value realized generally is defined as the market value of the stock on the dates of exercise minus the applicable exercise price. It doesn’t necessarily indicate the stock was sold.
