Citizens Bank funds youth program
Citizens Bank and the Black Ministerial Alliance of Greater Boston announced the details of a new initiative aimed at curbing youth violence this summer in Boston neighborhoods.
Called the Summer Enrichment Series, the program is funded by a $200,00 grant from the Citizens Bank Foundation, Citizens said.
One aim of the program is to create summer jobs.
"Citizens Bank is deeply committed to the communities where our customers and colleagues live and work," Robert E. Smyth, chief executive of Citizens Bank of Massachusetts, said in a statement. "Addressing youth violence in our neighborhoods is the responsibility of the entire community, and we are pleased to support Mayor Menino's efforts through this collaboration with the Black Ministerial Alliance."
